Silver Linings Playbook to open 14th MFF. The legendary Anupam Kher is on cloud nine these days
The legendary Anupam Kher is on cloud nine these days. And he has every reason to feel so. The film Silver Linings Playbook that stars him along with Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Jennifer Lawrence will open the 14th Mumbai Film Festival which will be held from October 18- 25.
Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Kher said that, "I feel extremely honored to present it as the opening film of such a prestigious festival. It's a great moment of joy and pride for me. It's an honor that The Weinstein Company has asked me to present the film for its Asia premiere. Till now, the situation was that, for every foreign film, there was a foreigner who presented it. But it's a first time in the history of the festival, that an actor who has acted in the film is also presenting the award. Also, the film Silver Lining Playbook is on a winning spree, after having won the 'Audience Award' and 'People's Choice' award in Toronto. The film is indeed making lot of noise, for all the right reasons. Trust me, I am proud also because to my own people, I will be presenting the film."
Anupam, who plays Bradley Cooper's therapist, is flooded by compliments by one and all. Talking about that, he said, "The biggest compliment came from Robert De Niro. He said that 'I couldn't have thought of anybody else besides you doing this role. You were great. It was a real pleasure working with you.'"
Lastly, when asked about 'what's next' on his plate, Anupam signed off saying, "I like to reinvent myself every few years. And this film is my step towards that. And there's a 'silver lining' to it already!"
